The course is a 1.25 mile loop on decomposed granite around Cameron Park Lake.
Since this race is perfectly flat runners have a great chance to get a 100 mile qualifier or just to set a PR.
The environment is very peaceful and frankly, pretty beautiful too.
Finishing yet another round coming into the only aid station available.
I was talking to Scott Weber which is, as of writing this, a 12 times Badwater 135 finisher.
This day was fairly hot and I had not a good time. For some reason I felt bad during the whole race and had to constantly push myself.
Many families there have a garage with their own airplane. If you look close you'll see that here they have one hanging and one on the ground between the car and the mobile home.
After 50K I called it a quit even though I signed up for the 50 miler. It took me over 7 hours to finish those 31 miles. I'm simply having a bad day.
